Rumor: Batman Arkham Knight may get DLC featuring the Red Hood

Good news for all Batman fans. The 3rd and final gaming title to conclude the Batman trilogy of the Dark Knight plans to go out with a bang; and what better way to bring a conclusion to the gaming series than by bringing in the second Robin, Jason Todd as part of the game’s DLC lineup. That’s right folks; Jason Todd is rumored to be included in the DLC content of Batman: Arkham Knight, but not just any persona of Jason Todd; the infamous protégée will appear as the Red Hood and will become involved in an add-on story mission.

Promotional materials posted by Batman News shows leaked materials belonging to Gamestop that had disinterred the news of the new playable character. Players will be able to control mass murdering vigilante; which is the second DLC to sprout up; falling behind the Harley Quinn DLC; in which players will also get to control the aforementioned character.

Rumor: Batman Arkham Knight may get DLC featuring the Red Hood

Yesterday afternoon, GameStop had tweeted a blurry image. If a discerning eye with an astute observation could see the blurred figure properly, they could deduce that the densely pixilated character shares a striking resemblance to the Red Hood. The tweet mentioned an announcement connected to the image and a “big game” coming today, July 23.

In the Batman mythos, the Red Hood’s identity has shifted from character to character. Perhaps the most notable one was the origin of how Joker came in to existence (flashbacks are provided in the animated movie, Batman: Under the Red Hood and the gaming title Batman: Arkham Origins). Since then, the identity has shifted to less important characters after which it was picked up by Jason Todd, after he was brutally murdered by the Joker and resurrected by Ra’s Al Ghul’s Lazarus pits.

Batman: Arkham Knight will launch in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
