Rise of the Tomb Raider might be coming exclusively to the Xbox One, as per the announcement made by Microsoft. But according to Industry Insiders, the game might be timed exclusive only and will be released on other platforms after a set amount of time.
On gaming forum NeoGAF, Insider CBOAT, who has been usually correct with his leaks regarding Microsoft denied that it was a lifetime exclusive to the Xbox One, hinting at it being timed exclusive instead. With the recent trend of Xbox One losing exclusives like Dead Rising 3 and Ryse, this could be plausible.
Shinobi602, another insider with a good track record with leaks confirmed that his source said it was a timed exclusive.
Person that told me about many MS ‘things’ previously is telling me it’s indeed a timed exclusive.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was originally announced for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One at E3 this year. During Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference earlier this day, they announced that the game will be coming exclusively to the Xbox One in Holiday 2015. The wording implied that it might be timed exclusive, although Microsoft has denied it.
GameInformer Editor-in-Chief also heard reports regarding it being timed exclusive so this might be true after all.
Guess we are getting reports here too that its a timed exclusive. I hate when companies word things like shit.
