Looks like Sega is considering localizing some more Yakuza titles which could potentially include the Yakuza 3 Remaster along with the two spin offs Yakuza: Ishin! and Yakuza: Kenzan!
Here are some notable questions from the survey:
- How interested are you in purchasing remasters/remakes of existing Yakuza games?
- How interested are you in purchasing new games set in the world of Yakuza?
- How interested are you in purchasing games created by the Yakuza team in other worlds, like the upcoming Fist of the North Star game?
- How interested are you in purchasing the various spin-off titles that have never received western release?
Yakuza: Kiwami 2 is the remaster of the second game in the series and released yesterday in the West. Similarly Sega recently released a remaster of the third game in Japan and are planning on releasing the fourth this fall as well as the fifth in Spring 2019. If previous trends are to be trusted future Kiwami games are a lock in terms of localization since Sega already did two.
However the spinoffs are a different story. They are based during historical periods in Japan. Ishin! is set during the Bakumatsu period released for PS4 and PS3 in 2014 while Kenzan! is set during the Edo period and was released for the PS4 in 2009. If all these games do get localized then its a whole lot of Yakuza for series fans coming soon.
Yakuza: Kiwami 2 is now out and is exclusive to the Playstation 4.
