In an incredible turn of events, Sony has announced a Shadow of the Colossus remake for the PS4. The remake was shown with a gameplay trailer and it is coming next year.
The gameplay trailer showed some of the colossus in newly improved graphics engine. Sony seems to be going towards the same route as Crash Bandicoot Trilogy to remake the game here while still retaining the original charm of the game.
Shadow of the Colossus was a fan favorite game that achieved cult classic status. It was the second game by Team ICO directed by Fumito Ueda. Ueda then worked on The Last Guardian although Shadow of the Colossus remains his best game till date. It should be interesting to see how the remaster compares next to the original game.
