Shadow of the Tomb Raider Pre-Order DLC And Special Edition Bonus Chart Is A Mess

Square Enix has shared a cinematic trailer and confirmed the pre-order and special editions for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The game is set to launch on September 14 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The pre-order situation for the game is unfortunately something of a mess due to how it was presented in the marketing of the game.

First of all, there is the regular release of the game which will retail for the standard price $59.99, this is followed by a Croft Edition that comes with the Season Pass and has its own bonus DLC included with it. Details about it can be read from here. There is also the Digital Deluxe Edition that is available on the digital stores for each respective platform. It doesn’t appear to contain the Season Pass at all. Lastly the Ultimate Edition is the one that supposedly has everything included in it along with retail bonus items.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Cinematic Trailer And First Screenshots Released

The chart below showcases each of the edition and their content to some extent. It can be confusing to figure out you are getting which DLC by just taking a look at the chart. This was a promotional image from Square Enix so do keep it in mind.

While Shadow of the Tomb Raider is not really the worst offender when it comes to the pre-order and special editions, the chart that was released as official promotional image is a bit of a mess to say the least. It doesn’t really clarify most of the things that you can expect when you buy a specific edition of the game. Perhaps it is best to just get the standard edition and buy the Season Pass separately. According to the chart, it is unclear if Season Pass will actually have some exclusive bonus tied to it that won’t be available to the other editions.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will launch on September 14th for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
