Shadow of the Tomb Raider PS4 Pro vs. Xbox One X 4K Visuals Comparison

Shadow of the Tomb Raider offers both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X support. There is no change in the visual modes, both support high resolution and high frame rate mode. The difference is in the performance and overall image quality for the game.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is another game where Xbox One X takes the lead. This is not to say that the PS4 Pro version is any less spectacular than the Xbox One X, but Xbox One X offers the best IQ out of both consoles, and with better FPS for the high frame rate mode.

For the purpose of this comparison, all screenshots were taken on the default brightness and contrast settings. They are all captured on the high-resolution mode which runs at 4K on both consoles but Xbox One X renders at a higher resolution overall.

Please note that the images are incorrectly tagged as PS4. They were taken from a PS4 Pro in high resolution mode.

We have also published a comparison between the high frame rate and high-resolution mode on the Xbox One X. If you want to read more about the game, make sure to check out our review.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will launch on September 14th but those who pre-order can also get access to the game 2 days early on September 12th. The game is already out in the wild so be careful about any potential spoilers.
