Shadow Warrior 2 Sets Sales Record For Series, Free Content Announced

Developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital have announced that their recently launched game, Shadow Warrior 2, has been a huge success. The game sold four-times more copies in the first week after its launch as compared to the 2013 Shadow Warrior reboot.

Shadow Warrior 2 is the largest launch ever for the developer and the publisher. These sky-high sales indicate that it has a long, healthy life ahead, especially with its forthcoming console release in 2017.

Michal Szustak, Studio Director at Flying Wild Hog, had the following to say on this impressive achievement:

“We could not be happier with the reception of Shadow Warrior 2. We’re a small studio with only about 75 people, and each of us poured our hearts and souls into making a bigger, different experience for Shadow Warrior 2. That our fans and critics have largely applauded our efforts means the absolute world to us.”

To celebrate this feat, Flying Wild Hog have also announced that they are working on a free content update for the game. This is the first of the three expected updates. It will feature new missions, weapons, items, co-op ninja characters, and an “ultra-hard challenge mode.”

Shadow Warrior 2 is currently available exclusively for PC and can be bought for $39.99.
