Shenmue 3 Gets New Screenshots Ahead Of Magic Monaco 2018

Shenmue 3 was originally set to launch last year but it has been put on hold for a release sometime later. The game originated on Kickstarter and set new record by completing its funding goal easily. It is currently set for the PC and PS4 and it will the successor to Shenmue 2. The creator of the series, Yu Suzaki, is back on the project and directing this latest entry.

Shenmue 3 has received some criticism over its visuals and animations. The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 4 but the visuals are inconsistent so far, which is the case for a game that is in development, but the animations itself felt dated when a new trailer was released for it last year as part of behind the scenes development footage.

Magic Monaco 2018 will feature new gameplay for Shenmue 3 and the developers have now shared 3 new screenshots ahead of the reveal for the gameplay. These screenshots show the environments for the game and one of them focuses on the main characters. Looking at them and comparing them to the initial reveal, there appears to be some nice improvement on the visual front so hopefully the gameplay reveal can keep the visual consistency intact.

Shenmue 3 is currently only confirmed for the PC and PS4. There is no specific release date given for it after the Kickstarter date for late 2017 passed without any release of the game.
