Shuhei Yoshida Is Confident In The Last Guardian, Says People Will Enjoy It

Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios President, Shuhei Yoshida seems to have confidence in the development of The Last Guardian. The game has been in development for quite a while and was originally set for a release on PS3, which was later changed to PS4.

The Last Guardian is being developed by Fumito Ueda’s team, who is known as a visionary in game development due to his work on two cult classics: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. The Last Guardian can prove to be his latest masterpiece, or it can end up being a disaster because of years of development issues.

SIE WWS President, Shuhei Yoshida appears to have much confidence in the game and he hopes that people will enjoy it when it releases this October.

No, I’m not worried. I have confidence in the team and Ueda-san’s vision. We are so excited to be able to finally play this game that needed to be out, and lots of people are waiting. I expect people will enjoy when it comes out.

It was always in development and it took longer, especially when we made the decision to move from PS3 to PS4. Lots of engineering had to be redone from scratch so that was contributed to the length of the project.

But now the team is very excited to be able to show a little bit of the game but we don’t want to spoil the story so we are not going to show too much until the game comes out. But when the game comes out we want people to really enjoy it.

So far, the game looks to stay close to its original vision which pits a young boy with a strange creature called Trico. This creature has been designed to be a Cat and Bird hybrid and has its own dynamic A.I that is supposed to the highlight of the game. The story will cover the bond between the boy and trico and their journey through a strange land.

The Last Guardian will be released on October 25th, 2016 exclusively for the PS4.
