The Skull Rain Expansion Is Now Live For Rainbow Six Siege

The latest expansion for Rainbow Six Siege, Skull Rain, is now live on all platforms. The expansion brings 2 new Operators, a new map, new weapon skins and much more.

The two new operators are the Capitão and the Caveira. The Capitão is an attacker who is equipped with a tactical crossbow, which can use two types of ammunition, asphyxiating bolts and micro smoke grenades. Asphyxiating bolts deal damage to your enemies while the micro smoke grenades act as cover.

The Caveira is a defender whose unique ability, Silent Step, allows her to sneak up on enemies unnoticed so that she can use interrogation on them to reveal the positions of the enemy team. The Caveira also comes equipped with a unique PRB92, with a custom suppressor and subsonic ammunition, called the Luison.

The new map in the expansion is called Favela and is set in Brazil. Combining narrow streets and high vantage points, Favela is set to be the most destructive map to date. The expansion also introduces the Skull Rain Weapon Skins, Amazônia, Ceifador, Azulejos, the Piranha, and Skull Rain.

Due to popular demand, the developers have also added a new ‘Hardcore’ mode called the Tactical Realism mode. In this mode the HUD only displays the Round Timer, Compass, Gadget & Weapon Panels, and effectively removes features such as enemy marking and kill confirmations. Although the mode is currently in Beta, it will help add some much needed immersion to matches.

The final additions are a new attachment called the the angled grip and a new surrender system. The surrender system allows a team to forfeit ranked matches if they do not want to be forced to play out the whole thing. Prior to the 3rd round, teams can now cast votes and surrender if the majority of the team agrees.

On top of all of this, the expansion also includes improvements to the game’s health, as well as a massive number of tweaks and fixes to the game. You can check out the full patch notes here.
