Smite Update Version 10.85 Is Out; Here’s What It Does [Patch Notes]

Smite has received a new update on the PS4 and Xbox One that brings the game to update version 5.18 on all platforms.

The updates for Smite usually drop after every two weeks but the servers were under maintenance today as shared by the developers on Reddit. 

The devs have outlined their goals during the server maintenance that happened today.

Client side and Server side crashes

• We’ve got a potential fix going into our build Monday that we believe will greatly help with crash issues for the SMITE client and player server connections. To be honest, this is a super complicated issue that we are still trying to understand on our end (our Technical Director is even stumped), but we’ll also be implementing some debug code that will help us with logging and tracking these issues. Our fix on Monday may not work. If it doesn’t, we believe the logging we’ve put in place will help us find the root cause of these issues to get them resolved.

Lobby Chat

• Lobby chat has been having off and on issues for a while now and we think we’ve nailed them down. We’ve got a fix to ensure Lobby Chat always appears slated for Monday’s maintenance. Our QA team hasn’t been able to get a reliable reproduction of this issue in house, so we can’t 100% say that the issue has been solved permanently. But we’ll be able to use the debug code we’re implementing to help us take next steps.

Random Loadouts – Favorite Items

• • Players can now choose which items are a “favorite” for each type of customization item
  • Using Random Loadouts will select favorited items
    • Allows you to filter out certain items from your random loadouts

Console – Queue Pop Redesign

• • Queue Accept menu has updated art and controls
  • Players will now need to use the control stick to move over to accept or decline a queue, then confirm it
    • This will prevent players from accidentally declining queues

Console – God Selection UI Update

• Updated art for the god selection screen

General

• • Players should no longer see “Reconnect” screens before logging in
    • Was launched before 5.18 in a hotfix
  • Fixed issues where players in Parties would not be able to use lobby chat or role calling
  • Adjusted PTS matchmaking parameters to increase player’s chances of getting into a match on PTS only
  • Player settings and Keybinds should no longer be reset on patch update
  • Players should now receive more Commendation Points for longer matches
    • Reminder – Commendation Rewards reset every month (2 patches)

Smite is now available to play now on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
