Sony Confirms No New Hardware Reveal At Their E3 2018 Conference

Earlier this year, there were rumors circulating across various websites that stated that we might get a new PlayStation console reveal this year with a release in 2019. E3 is due soon in June and this is the time when most of the major companies reveal their hardware, however Sony has now already set the expectation for their E3 2018 conference by confirming that they won’t showcase any new hardware.

In the official PlayStation Blogcast, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s CEO Shawn Layden confirmed that they don’t have any PlayStation hardware to reveal at E3. The conference will focus on their 4 big first party games that are set to launch next year and beyond. This includes Death Stranding, Days Gone, The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. In addition to this, they also have new announcements from third party studios planned for their conference.

Sony has already announced or released most of their products from their first party studios including Guerrilla Games, Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica and Sucker Punch. They are also working with Hideo Kojima on Death Stranding, which will be another PlayStatio 4 exclusive. This will be the first time Death Stranding will be shown with a full blown gameplay demo.

Along with Death Stranding, fans can also look at the first gameplay footage for The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. Days Gone was recently showcased in more 1 hour of gameplay footage from the Alpha version of the game by GameInformer. It will get more new details shared at E3 2018.
