Sony Interactive Entertainment is open to acquiring game development companies, amidst companies like Microsoft and Google focusing on acquiring new companies to increase their development portfolios.
According to a report on Nikkei, SIE President and CEO Jim Ryan mentioned in an interview that the Japanese electronic giant is open to the possibility of mergers and acquisition of game companies. Ryan stated that with giants like Google entering the industry “content is now more important than it has been in the past”.
Ryan encouraged the competition stating “Companies new to our industry looking to the market with enthusiasm are most welcome”. He boasts “Sony has 25 years of experience in the gaming market and has huge assets”.
