Spider-Man 2 vs. Spider-Man PS4 World Map Comparison Shows How Far Tech Has Come

Spider-Man 2 is considered the definitive Spider-Man experience because the developers nailed the feeling of web swinging around the city in that game. It was a tie-in with the movie of the same name and released for the PS2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube.

While many fans will still fondly remember Spider-Man 2, Marvel has partnered along with Sony and Insomniac Games to release a brand new Spider-Man game for the PS4. We have already seen how large its world map is in the game but now you can have an idea of how this compares to the previous Spider-Man PS2 game.

The draw distance is radically improved now and it adds to the overall density and scale of the city. The city is a living breathing world now with NPCs that can be interacted with, and sidequests to tackle.

Technology has advanced in all these years and it amazing to see how far the visuals have improved since the release of Spider-Man 2. Even though the game is impressive in its own right, it is easy to see how Marvel’s Spider-Man will set a new benchmark for the web-slinging hero once it arrives exclusively on the PS4 later this September.

Spider-Man PS4 will be released on September 7th, 2018 for the PS4. It is currently being developed by Insomniac Games and will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
