Spider-Man top seller in Tsutaya Japan for second week running, Shadow of the Tomb Raider debuts at second

Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 is selling really well all around the world and that was expected. There was one region where Western media doesn’t do that well, however Spider-Man proved that it’s as popular in Japan that it is all over the world.

According to sales charts of Tsutaya, a major book and CD store in Japan, Marvel’s Spider-Man has stayed in the #1 game spot for a second week running. Square Enix’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which made its debut last weekend, is at #2.

Other notable entrants are the Zone of the Enders Remaster at #8 and NBA 2K19 at #6.

Spider-Man has proved to be a huge success for publishers Sony. The game has become the fastest selling game of the year in UK, even though it was only released for a single platform. The success is pushing pressure on developers Insomniac for a sequel, they’re rumored to be announcing a new game soon.

As you can see the list is dominated by the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The Xbox One isn’t getting much love a the store, it took me a while to just find a page for its game which was hidden by the way. The store has just four games for the Xbox One, all from 2017, notable inclusions were FIFA 17 and Metal Gear Solid V, a sad state of affairs really.
