SteamWorld Dig 2 developer Image and Form Games has recently shared some details around the sales of their latest game. According to Image and Form Games, SteamWorld Dig 2 is the biggest launch in the series history. The game is proving to be a success both critically and commercially and the developer has already recouped back most of the development budget after just one week of the game’s launch on PC and Switch. It was also released recently for the PS4 and PS Vita.
SteamWorld Dig 2 is a sequel to the original SteamWorld Dig which was initially released in 2013 for the PC and then later received ports for PS4, PS Vita, Wii U and 3DS. The game revolved around mining resources by digging beneath a town and you controlled a steam-powered Robot called Rusty. The sequel was preceded by a spin-off called SteamWorld Heist.
The game developers have also shared some the development team numbers and apparently 20 developers worked on the game for almost one and half year. The game is also charting in the top selling games on the Nintendo Switch in most of the major regions. It has received a release this week for the PS4 and PS Vita after getting an initial release on PC and Nintendo Switch.
