Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Has An Annoying Trophy Requirement

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is out now for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. If you are playing the game on platforms that support trophies or achievements and are attempting to complete it 100 percent, chances are that you will encounter the annoying ‘Blue Belt’ trophy challenge that is somehow a requirement for one of the trophy.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection comes with online support for atleast 4 of the games included in the collection. They are Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Each game has its own ‘belt’ ranking that is decided based on the points that you accumulate after winning online ranked matches.

How To Get “I’m Blue” Trophy or Achievement

To get the Blue Belt trophy, you will be required to achieve around 1055 points, which means you have to win between 150 to 200 matches without accounting for any matches that you might lose. If you win a match with the same belt opponent, you get 10 points. If you defeat a lower belt opponent, you get just 5 points. If you defeat a higher belt opponent, you get 15 points. Losing a match also reduces your points so you will have to keep an eye out for it as well.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Review (PS4/Switch)

The issue is not that the online requirement is full of grind, it is more due to the terrible matchmaking that leaves the player relying on their luck to get matched with someone in their region so they don’t get to experience terrible lag. If you do get matched to someone far away from your region, you will get a jittery experience that can also feel like a complete slow motion gameplay mode.

The one reason why the Blue Belt trophy feels like a sore thumb is because of the easy requirements for every other trophy. To get 100 percent completion rate, you just need to beat each game in the collection. Other than these trophies, you have to get your first belt upgrade and find Akuma in Super Street Fighter 2, both of which don’t offer much challenge. Once you are done with this all, it is a grind to get the Blue Belt trophy and sadly the online experience doesn’t really help here. The game doesn’t offer any Platinum trophy in case you were hoping to get something for all this effort.
