The Nanyang Season 2 Championship is one of South-East Asia’s biggest tournaments. Some of the best Dota 2 teams from around the world will be competing for a prize pool of $200,000. The winner will take home $100,000.
Initially, KeyTV, the Organizers of the event, invited Team Secret, Evil Geniuses, Team Empire, Digital Chaos, Newbee, Wings Gaming, Fnatic and WarriorsGaming.Unity. However, some teams have dropped out of the event.
Evil Geniuses is one of the teams that were forced to decline their invitation to the tournament due to Visa issues. Evil Geniuses Dota 2 team manager, Philip Aram, confirmed that due to visa issues Evil Geniuses will not be attending the Nanyang Dota 2 Championship Season 2. Evil Geniuses Midlaner, Syed Sumail Hassan, had his Visa rejected three times. Due to the visa rejection, Evil Geniuses were unable to make it to Shanghai, where the event is taking place.
To clarify, Sumail's visa was rejected because we were never provided a government approved invitation from Nanyang. Never an issue before.

The defending champions, Team Secret has also declined their invitation to Nanyang Season 2 Championship due to “ongoing issues with the event”.

The International Open Qualifier Phase two winners, Fnatic, is another team that has declined their invitational due to visa issues. Fnatic Support player, DJ, could not obtain a visa to travel to Shanghai, same as Sumail, so Fnatic will not be attending the event. Fnatic will be replaced by Chinese team, LGD Gaming, to play in the LAN finals.
Many teams were looking forward to this event due to the fact that it would have been great practice going into the biggest event in eSports, The International 2016. All three teams that declined their invitation to the event, have qualified for TI6. The two teams, Team Secret and Evil Geniuses, have not been replaced by any other team at the moment.
Although some of the best teams in the world have dropped out of the tournament, the event still features some amazing teams from all around the world. LGD and Newbee are one of the best teams in the world and they have been directly invited to The International 2016 by Valve. The Nanyang season 2 Championship takes place between the 6th and 10th of July.
