The International 2016: Here’s A List of Qualified Teams From All Over The World

Earlier today, the action packed open qualifiers for The International 2016 came to an end. We saw teams battling it out for a chance to participate in the biggest eSports tournament of the year. Six teams have already received direct invites to the event. Valve directly invited OG, Na’VI, Team Liquid, LGD Gaming, Newbee and MvP Phoenix to participate in the tournament.

After the qualifiers, eight teams have secured themselves a spot to participated in The International 2016.

Europe:

The European Qualifiers were the most competitive among all of the four regions. In the end, Team Secret came out on top by qualifying as the number one team from Europe. Alliance was the second European team to qualify for TI6 through the open qualifiers. The Swedes did not have an easy time, as they had to qualify by winning Phase two of the open qualifiers in order to secure a spot to TI6. Alliance faced Escape in the final of Phase two where Alliance came out victorious by defeating Escape 3-1 in a best of five series. Escape are the Wildcard team from Europe.

America: 

The American Qualifiers saw TI5 winners, Evil Geniuses, fighting for their spot in The International 2016. The returning champions did not receive a direct invite to the event due to their last minute roster change. Evil Geniuses had an amazing run in the open qualifiers as they only lost one game against Complexity, who they defeated 3-1 to earn themselves the number one spot in the American open qualifiers. The American qualifiers saw Complexity and Digital Chaos battle it out for the number two spot in Phase two. Digital Chaos came out on top, defeating Complexity in a nail biting series which saw the teams go to the final match of the best of five. Complexity are the Wildcard team from America.

South-East Asia:

MvP Phoenix was one of the teams which were directly invited to The International 2016. Joining them will be TnC Pro Team and Fnatic. TnC Pro Team shocked everyone with their incredible performance in the South-East Asian qualifiers by securing themselves the number one spot and directly qualifying for TI6. Fnatic, however, had to go through Phase two of the open qualifiers and defeated Execration in the finals. They secured themselves the number two spot in the SEA open qualifiers. Execration are the Wildcard team from South-East Asia.

China:

Chinese Dota has drastically improved in the past few month. Newbee exerted their dominance with their 29 game win streak, which later ended at the hands of OG. This win streak was the longest in the history of Dota. Two Chinese teams, LGD Gaming and Newbee, were among the six teams which were directly invited to The International 2016 by Valve. ESL Manila Major champions, Wings Gaming, secured the number one spot in the Chinese open qualifier. Moments ago, ViCi Reborn won the final of Phase two of the Chinese open qualifiers by defeating Ehome in game five of the best of five series. Ehome are the Wildcard team from the China.
