Tekken 7 proves to be huge success selling over 3 million copies worldwide, series total currently at 47 million

Tekken 7 has sold over 3 million copies all over the world as revealed earlier today, the series total now stands at a staggering 47 million units sold.

Series creator Katsuhiro Harada celebrated the occasion by releasing a “Celebration Illustration” showcasing many Tekken characters in celebration mode.

This is a huge deal since this is the first time in a while Tekken has outsold Street Fighter. Street Fighter V has sold 2.1 million copies according to the latest sales numbers. For comparison other notable recent fighting games like Dragon Ball Fighter Z and Marvel Versus Capcom: Infinite sold 2.5 million and 1 million units respectively.

Developers Bandai Namco also released the new trailer for Tekken 7 Fated Retribution Round 2, which is the upcoming upgraded version of the Arcade version of the game. It’ll feature characters like Geese Howard and Noctis who were released as DLC for the console version of the game.

Tekken 7 is available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
