Continuing their increased focus on China, Nintendo has partnered with China’s biggest gaming company Tencent to create a Pokemon game.
Development for the game will be led by Tencent’s TIMI Studio, which is their flagship developer responsible for some of their biggest titles. The developer is behind games like Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile as well as Call of Duty Mobile amongst others. The press release was clear to note that this will be an original game not an existing game being brought to Chinese audiences. Nintendo previously partnered with NetEase to bring Pokemon Quest to China, however Tencent’s project will be a completely new game.
As for what platform the game would be made for, its a certain that it’ll be a smartphone game due to the developer involved. The TIMI Studio exclusively makes games for iOS and Android devices.
