The Evil Within 2 Reportedly In Production, Leaked Through Job Listing

The Evil Within 2 might be in development if a recent job listing is to be believed. The Evil Within is a game developed by the creator of Resident Evil, Shinji Mikami. The game was released in 2014 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC and received fairly average reviews. It was also criticized for mostly following the same formula established by Resident Evil although it did manage to focus more on the survival horror aspects in the game.

The Evil Within was developed by Shinji Mikami with his own studio called Tango Gameworks and while there is no official confirmation of a sequel yet, a leaked job listing might have revealed a potential sequel, as discovered on NeoGAF.

This job listing is for “Psycho Break 2” which was the Japanese name for The Evil Within, confirming that we are indeed getting a sequel to the game. The job listing asks for translation and quality assurance for Psycho Break 2, which hints that the game might be far along in production and also teases a reveal at E3 2017.

The Evil Within was published by Bethesda Softworks who also own Tango Gameworks. It will be interesting to see how they approach this sequel and whether Shinji Mikami returns to direct it.

Hopefully we get an official confirmation of the Evil Within 2 at the upcoming E3.
