The Getaway developer hiring for a AAA PlayStation exclusive

SIE London Studio is currently hiring for a AAA PlayStation exclusive.

Sony’s London Studio is most notably known for games like The Getaway as well as the EyeToy and Singstar series. Although they’ve mostly worked on VR titles and games in the Singstar franchise in recent years, they’re currently hiring to deliver a “AAA” experience.

The hint comes from a job listing for a Game Designer intended “to join an exciting team working on innovative interactive experiences designed for mainstream audiences.”

Here’s the main lowdown of the position:

This is a hands-on role focused on implementing and tuning mechanics and working alongside other designers to ensure delivery of a AAA experience.

The game is expected to run on Unreal Engine 4 as the job lists “Unreal Engine experience” as one of the required qualifications.

SIE London Studio hasn’t worked on a typical AAA title since 2002’s The Getaway and 2004’s The Getaway: Black Monday on the PS2. A third game in the series titled The Getaway 3 was in development for the PS3 but was cancelled in 2008 as the studio focused its efforts on its strengths i.e Singstar and EyeToy. However chances of this new game being in the same vein as the aforementioned games are slim as the studio is now highly focused on VR with them creating them own VR technology called the LSSDK Engine.

SIE London Studio is also currently worked on Blood and Truth for PS VR which doesn’t have a release date yet.

What do you think London Studio’s new game is? A new VR title? A return to The Getaway franchise? Something brand new? Let us know in the comments below.
