The Last of Us Part 2 has faced an unfortunate delay to Spring if we believe this new report by Kotaku. Sony had just announced the game for a release on February 21, 2020.
The Last of Us Part 2 is the second chapter in the popular series by Naughty Dog and will see the adventures of Joel and Ellie continue in this post-apocalyptic world. While Sony hasn’t shared an official confirmation of a delay, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier (via) has learned from two sources inside Naughty Dog that the game has been delayed to Spring.
This is a vague release window and there is no confirmation of how long this delay will last. It was rumored in the past that the game will offer support for the PS5 along with Ghost of Tsushima, which also doesn’t have any release date.
Update: This has been confirmed by Sony. The game is now out on May 29, 2020, as revealed on PlayStation Blog.
The previous release date of The Last of Us Part 2 was ahead of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Cyberpunk 2077. It remains to be seen how long and where this new delay will last for the hotly anticipated PS4 exclusive.
