The Witcher 3 Finally Gets HDR Patch On PS4

CD Project Red has released a brand new update for The Witcher 3 on the PS4 Pro. This update adds the long teased HDR that was initially released for the Xbox One X and then later confirmed to be in development for the PS4 Pro.

The Witcher 3 launched in 2015 when there was no craziness about HDR. The launch of the PS4 Pro and the focus on 4K gaming has also brought HDR into the mix. Most of the major games now support HDR so it is nice to finally have HDR support with The Witcher 3. The game received an update for the PS4 Pro last year that implemented support for the Pro along with visual enhancements.

The following changes are included in this new update that should be available to download now on the PS4.

  • HDR support;
  • various performance optimizations;
  • stability improvements;
  • localization bugfixing;
  • minor visual improvements.

HDR support is not exclusive to the PS4 Pro but it can also be seen on the regular PS4. If you own a PS4 Pro, you can enjoy the improved visuals compared to the standard PS4.
