THQ Nordic, formerly known as Nordic Games, has just announced today that the publisher has acquired all the franchises of the now defunct NovaLogic.
In an official post on the publisher’s website, THQ Nordic announced that an asset purchase agreement with NovaLogic had been made which would entail that the company would acquire all games and projects owned by NovaLogic, such as the Delta Force Series, Comanche Series, Joint Operations Series, Armored Fist Series, F-22 – Series, F-16 Series and many more. Also acquired was the NovaLogic Trademark.
John Garcia, CEO of NovaLogic, had this to say:
“After 30 years of creating ground breaking Computer and Video Games we are proud to pass the baton to THQ Nordic. As individuals, they are enthusiastic gamers and as a company have shown the agility and acumen needed to propel our industry towards a much-needed reset. We are happy to see the franchises we created in such capable hands.”
As mentioned in the post itself, this is also not the first time THQ Nordic has acquired another publisher and it’s titles, such as JoWooD Entertainment, DreamCatcher Interactive and perhaps most notably THQ in 2011 which came alongside game series such as the Darksiders and the Red Faction franchise.
Most of the franchises acquired this time around are “military themed multiplayer shooters with vehicular combat” and THQ Nordic says it is open to talks if a developer wants to approach them with concepts for sequels for any of the IPs.
