As previously reported, a trophy list leak for Dead Rising on the PlayStation 4, suggested that a remaster, or a port, might have been on the way. Capcom has officially confirmed not only that, but a whole lot more.
According to the publisher, Dead Rising 1, 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off The Record will be making their way to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. However, Capcom has not confirmed whether the aforementioned games will be remasters. More details are on the way ‘soon.’
“Capcom will be bringing Dead Rising to Xbox One, PS4, and PC,” the publisher said in a statement shared with GameSpot. “In addition, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will make their way onto Xbox One and PS4.”
Dead Rising 2 and Off The Record are already available on PC, however, so the platform will only be getting a re-release of the first game. That might suggest that Dead Rising will simply be ported, not remastered, but we’re waiting on Capcom to provide clarification in this regard.
Speculation even suggests that Capcom might have a Dead Rising Collection in the works, but that seems very unlikely at this point.
With Dead Rising 4 on the way, the release of these three games could offer a starting point for players who have never experienced the franchise before. Dead Rising 4 comes out for the Xbox One and PC only, however.
