Top 5 Indie Games of 2014

Indie games weren’t exactly the most popular games but games like The Walking Dead have changed the mindset of several gamers about the genre. Here is our count-down of the best Indie games on 2014.

DISCLAIMER: These games are in no specific order and are not ranks in anyway and also, these are the games that have been announced, are about to come out or are released.

5. Mercenary Kings

This game is a mixture of multiple games. It has touch of Metal Slug with a hint of Borderlands. Developers, Tribute Games, have developed many popular indie games such as Scott Pilgrim vs The World so it’s not a surprise to see that this game has similar characteristics to Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Mercenary Kings is available now for PS4 and PC and is free for PlayStation Plus Subscribers for April.

4. Transistor

An Action RPG game which brings something new to the table. When facing enemies, you can pause the action and plan out your next move but keep an eye on your health bar. This game comes out May 20th on PS4 and PC.

An action packed scrolling shooter game similar to Metal Slug. With destructible environments and action packed gameplay is a lot of fun to play and that makes it a must play game. The game is expected for release in Q2 2014 for PC and Consoles.

2. No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky made it’s debut at the 2013 VGX awards. We know very little about the game. The game should have been out by now but it was delayed due to a flood in Hello Games’ offices. The release date and the platforms are yet to be announced for the game, hopefully we hear from the developers soon.

1. Broken Age

Formerly known as Double Fine Adventure, Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure game. Broken Age’s managed to raise $3.45 million in crowdfunding. The game is legendary developer Tim Schafer’s first return to the genre since 1998’s Grim Fandango. This game is available now for Android, iOS, Linux and PC.
