The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV and Warrior Orochi 4 have dominated the sales charts in Japan.
The latest sales figures from Japan are here for the last week of September 2018 – September 24-30 courtesy of Dingeki Online.
As expected, Warriors Orochi 4, or Musou Orochi 3 as its known in Japan, came in at number 1. The game sold around 140k copies across the Nintendo Switch and PS4, with the latter platform contributing to most of the sales.
The number 2 name on this list makes me super happy as Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV sold almost 110k in its opening week. This number is a huge jump from 87k that Cold Steel III sold, however it’s still not as good as Cold Steel II which sold around 152k copies in its opening week. It should be noted though as Cold Steel II was released for two platforms, the PS3 and PS Vita, with the Vita being a major contributor to sales in Japan. Cold Steel III and IV are exclusive to the PS4. So in short, the numbers for Cold Steel IV should be a huge success for developers Falcom! Now just wait until they bring it to the West.
FIFA 19 sold really well as expected from the worldwide sports game. Dragon Ball Fighters made its debut on the Switch performing to expectations.
The major disappointments on the chart is The World Ends with You – Final Remix, which sold just 14k copies. Check out the Top 15 sellers in Japan for last week below:
