Ubisoft originally announced Steep coming to the Nintendo Switch when the console was unveiled by Nintendo. Steep is a online extreme winter sports game that was released last year for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The announcement of the Nintendo Switch version came as a surprise since the game is rather intensive in visuals. The game quickly fell behind shadows once the announcement was made by Ubisoft.
In a recent tweet by one of the developer working on the Steep port for the Nintendo Switch, it was revealed that the game is currently in the optimization stage for the Nintendo Switch and it is not cancelled as assumed by the fans. The original tweet is in French but a Google Translate confirms that the developers are working on fixing the frame rate for the game. He insists that the game is not cancelled but not possible to release in its current stage until they fix the frame rate for it.
Steep is an extreme winter sports game that lets the players socialize online and attempt to set record and compete with each other. The game was released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC last year and runs on the Snowdrop engine by Ubisoft. This same engine is used to power Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle which is one of the most beautiful looking game on the Nintendo Switch, so hopefully the Steep port is also able to transition successfully to the Nintendo Switch.
