Man of Medan is the first proper horror game from Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games. This is also going to be a multi-platform project which means it is not exclusive to the PS4.
The developers have leveraged their experience with the Until Dawn development to create Man of Medan, a brand new horror adventure game which was created on the Unreal Engine.
Man of Medan feels like a spiritual successor to Until Dawn in all but its name. It is a horror game that uses the same adventure-focused gameplay which made Until Dawn a cult hit among the fans.
Man of Medan will be a part of The Dark Pictures Anthology, which is a series of video games. They will be all focused on creating new cinematic horror and released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
In an interview with PS Blog, Supermassive CEO has talked about what Man of Medan is trying to accomplish as the first game in The Dark Pictures Anthology.
“Man of Medan takes place the South Pacific and sees five friends set sail on a holiday diving trip,” explains Samuels.
“With a rumoured WWII wreck to find, and plenty of on-deck partying to be had, our group get ready for what should be the trip of a lifetime. As the day unfolds, and a storm rolls in, their trip soon changes into something much more sinister.
“People should expect the kind of tension and fear that many associate with Until Dawn, and with more significant branching that we’ve ever done before. All the characters can live or die!”
Man of Medan will be out on August 30 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be published by Bandai Namco and developed by Supermassive Games.
