SEGA has announced a brand new entry in the Valkyria Chronicles series. Valkyria Chronicles 4 is coming after more than a decade of the release of the original game. It follows the release of the Valkyria Chronicles Remaster for the PS4 and Valkyria Azure Revolution that recently launched for the PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the first game in the series that is a direct sequel and not a different story set in the same universe. According to the developers, it is around 90% complete and set to launch in March 2018 for the PS4 in Japan. It has also been confirmed to release on the PS4, Xbox One and Switch in the West in 2018, although there is no solid release date given for it yet.
To celebrate the announcement of the game, SEGA has released the official logo and key art along with a teaser trailer from the game. Visually, it manages to retain the art style for the series and looks better than its predecessors, although it is still not as impressive for a current generation game.
Valkyria Chronicles has received a new life on PC with the release of the original Valkyria Chronicles, but the announcement of the sequel lacked a PC version which might have disappointed some of the fans. However judging from the comments made by Atlus USA producer, there is always the possibility of the PC version releasing later down the line.
