A few weeks ago Valve, in their third announcement, announced a different type of controller, called Steam Controller, which moves away from generic analog sticks and instead uses trackpads on both sides for movements and actions. Gamers are still skeptical about the controller and how it will perform. Apparently Valve ninja-updated accounts of Steam users with the configuration layout for the Steam Controller for a few games.
Today, Valve’s official YouTube channel uploaded a video, titled Steam Controller Demonstration 001, which shows the Steam Controller being used to play Portal 2 and Counter Strike along with two other games. From what it looks like, the Steam Controller is a beta type unit with no touchscreen in the center.

The Steam Controller can offer a better experience with Point-and-click games as well as RTS games due to the tracking of the trackpad to accurately place the cursor on the screen.
