Nintendo users will be disappointed to hear that EA will not release FIFA 16 on any nintendo platform. Wii U and the 3DS have been losing out on many multiplatforms recently, do publishers not have faith in Nintendo’s consoles anymore?
Nintendo’s currently active console lineup consists of the 3DS, Wii and Wii U. An EA rep stated the following:
With regards to FIFA 16 there isn’t a Vita or 3DS version. We don’t have any further detail on the mobile version but will be sure to share with you when we hear more.
However, there was no mention of Wii, or the Wii U in this statement, nor any other word from EA on those platforms so it is likely FIFA 16 will not be released on them either.
FIFA has been released on Nintendo Platforms since 2000, continuously, and it looks like that this year would break the streak. So far, FIFA 16 has only been announced for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
Hopefully EA Sports clarifies on their reasons for dropping the Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita versions of the games. Dropping the Wii is understandable because of the console being so old, however dropping the Wii U is outright disappointing since they’re still going to be releasing the game on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
