Rumors are starting to crop up online for The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch. This time, the source of the rumor is a Chinese retail website which is listing Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition as launching in September 2019.
The Witcher 3 is an ambitious open world RPG that is available on PC and consoles. As we have seen with similar ports in the past, they usually don’t work out that great on the Nintendo Switch. The most recent examples are Assassin’s Creed 3 and the older Resident Evil games.
The Witcher 3: Game of the Year included all of the post-launch DLC and it is already available on the PC and consoles. This rumor comes from a retail distributor in China (via) which mentions The Witcher 3 releasing this September for the Nintendo Switch.
Before you start to think it is a native port, there have been streaming-based games like Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey released for the Nintendo Switch in Japan, so this could be another one of them which is exclusive to a specific region.
CD Project Red hasn’t shared anything official on the status of such a port so we have to chalk it up as a rumor for now. If there is a port of the game coming to the Nintendo Switch, we might hear about it at the upcoming E3.
