Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will launch later this year for the Nintendo Switch and now the first look at the game is available now through PAX East. Wolfenstein 2 port is being handled by the same developers who have ported Rocket League and DOOM for the Nintendo Switch so they seem to have gradually improved their efforts after working with the Nintendo Switch hardware.
While Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus seems to hold up favorably next to the PS4 version of the game, the performance is sadly not as satisfactory with frame rate being generally unstable for the most part. It is even a bigger difference if we compare the performance of the game now to the PS4, Xbox One or PC verison, all of which run it at 60 FPS compared to the 30 FPS for the Nintendo Switch.
The two animated GIFs below are taken from the Switch and PS4 version respectively and show what kind of difference can be expected between the two different platforms. Obviously the Nintendo Switch is a weaker hardware overall but the game still manages to retain a lot of the visual effects from the console version. Hopefully the performance of the game can also be patched before it officially launches on the Nintendo Switch.
Wolfenstein 2 initially launched for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game was developed by Machine Games and published by Bethesda Softworks.
