Wolfenstein Youngblood Runs At 30 FPS And 720P Dynamic On Switch, 4K And 60 FPS On Xbox One X

Wolfenstein Youngblood is available for Nintendo Switch in addition to PS4 and Xbox One. It seems to run terribly on the Nintendo Switch console and also has some drawbacks.

According to an analysis done by Digital Foundry, Wolfenstein Youngblood runs at a dynamic resolution of 720p on the Nintendo Switch. It can drop as low as 680p but there are no low resolutions like 360p that was the case with the previous game. It also runs at the dynamic resolution when it portable mode and runs generally lower than the Docked mode.

The things are a little different on the Xbox One X where the game can run at native 4K. This mode can be a terrible way to experience the game since the frame rate doesn’t appear to remain constant at this resolution. It doesn’t hold stable 60 FPS at all. Digital Foundry recommends the Aggressive Dynamic Resolution option here.

While Nintendo Switch runs thee game at 30 FPS and most of the time it is running below 30, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro both enjoy 60 FPS support. The same is the case for the regular PS4 and Xbox One.

Wolfenstein Youngblood is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
