During San Diego’s Comic Con, Creative Director Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios revealed two new characters for Injustice 2, joining the likes of Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd, Superman, Batman, Red Lantern Atrocious and Aquaman. Boon had initially teased two new characters by posting an image featuring two silhouettes.
The newest trailer showcases brief gameplay for Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle, as well as the outfits that can be unlocked for them. More character announcements will be revealed as the year progresses.
Wonder Woman was also part of the character roster for the first Injustice game. Blue Beetle, however, would certainly be a welcome addition to the game.
Ed Boon could crossover a character from Mortal Kombat, as he acknowledged the fact that Scorpion was ‘the most downloaded character’ in the first Injustice game, and that ‘we’d be idiots not to’ include another from the franchise.
NetherRealm Studios also announced at their panel that the writer for the Injustice Comics, Tom Taylor, will be back to write the story for Injustice 2. According to Boon, a PC port to the game would also be ‘likely’.
