Xbox Australia Posts About Halo On Xbox One, Calls It Halo 5

Halo has been teased for Xbox One but it hasn’t gotten an official name yet. Microsoft has repeatedly denied that Halo on Xbox One is called Halo 5. Now it seems like Xbox Australia has seemingly confirmed that the upcoming game in the Halo series is indeed a mainline title and not some spin-off.

A post on the official Xbox Australia page reads that “Master Chief returns for the thrilling continuation of the Reclaimer Saga in Halo 5, only on #XboxOne”. Check it out below.

While Halo being on Xbox One is nothing new, its name hasn’t been officially confirmed by Microsoft. Now this latest update again solidifies the rumor of Halo on Xbox One being a mainline title called Halo 5.

Halo 5 is supposedly scheduled for a 2014 release. There hasn’t been much info released about this title. The only little teaser that we saw was at E3 2013 and it hinted at a 2014 release. Halo 4 was released on the Xbox 360 in 2012. It was the first time when a new studio worked on the Halo series after Bungie left working on Halo after Halo Reach. 343i Industries are the current developers of Halo and seemingly hard at work on Halo for the Xbox One.
