Xbox Elite Controller Version 2 Teased, Will Cost $149 And Ship In October

Microsoft is reportedly working on a new Elite controller for the Xbox One. This was leaked earlier through a Chinese website but this is the first time since we have heard about these new controllers from a journalist. Senior Editor at The Verge, Tom Warren has now confirmed the existence of the controller however he only shared the codename for it.

According to Tom Warren, the internal codename for this controller for Microsoft is Washburn. It will reportedly cost $149 and will start shipping in October. Since Microsoft hasn’t made any formal announcement for this controller, expect to hear about it at the upcoming Gamescom.

Xbox Elite Controller is a premium lineup of controllers for the Xbox One and PC, that has been incredibly successful for Microsoft. The earlier models of the Elite Controller were prone to a manufacturing fault so hopefully, these new iterations go through a proper quality assurance check. These Elite Controllers are usually sold out at launch since they are incredibly popular among the first-person shooter crowd.

Gamescom will start on August 21st and end on August 25th. It is an annual gaming event that is held in Cologne, Germany. Sony and Microsoft are usually present at this event to showcase their product and games. There are some new announcements also made at the event so the chance that the Elite Controller is announced is pretty likely.
