Xbox Live Service recently faced a downtime as a group has claimed that they have taken down Xbox Live. This problem seems to have been affecting both, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The group, who was also responsible for taking down PSN and Xbox Live in the past, has claimed to have taken down Xbox Live. This can be verified by checking the official status page of Xbox Live, which confirms that it was indeed having technical issues. Microsoft seems to have fixed them as acknowledged in their update on official status page.
The following services were affected for Gaming and Social on Xbox Live.
- Joining other Xbox Live members in online games
- Managing friends lists and tracking what friends are doing
- Posting game performance or viewing the performance of other Xbox Live members
The following core services were affected for Xbox Live.
- Creating new accounts on Xbox Live, managing those accounts, or recovering an account on a different device
- Signing into Xbox Live
These issues are now fixed and hopefully everything should be smooth now.
The group who has claimed responsibility posted about it on twitter.
