Xbox Live Games With Gold August 2018: What To Expect?

Microsoft will officially announce the Xbox Live Games with Gold lineup for the month of August 2018 next week. Last month, Xbox One users had to settle on indies with Assault Android Cactus and Death Squared both making the list for Games with Gold lineup. Xbox 360 lineup was better with Splinter Cell: Conviction and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown.

Summer is usually the time for low-quality releases and since it has started, Games with Gold lineup is not getting any better. June had a free-to-play game along with a part of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles while July was full of indies. Honestly, there is no reason to expect August to be any better here.

When Will Games with Gold Announced?

Microsoft will announce the Xbox Live Games with Gold lineup on Wednesday next week. They usually do it on the last Wednesday so unless their plans change, which happened last month, the announcement should happen on July 25th.

What Are The Predictions For The Free Games Lineup?

Here are our predictions for the upcoming Xbox Live Games with Gold lineup.

  • Divinity Original Sin (Xbox One)
  • Batman: The Telltale Series (Xbox One)
  • Binary Domain (Xbox 360)
  • Shadow of the Damned (Xbox 360)

Divinity Original Sin can be offered for free to celebrate the launch of the upcoming sequel which is available on early access. TellTale games usually offer their games free on Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus and Batman seems like a good contender. Binary Domain is by SEGA who has released almost one game one the lineup for the past few months. Lastly as for Shadow of the Damned, it is from EA who is another strong supporter of Xbox Live Gold with free games.
