Xbox One To Get New Preview Firmware Update: Fixes Issues With “Xbox On” Voice Command

Microsoft have announced a new preview update for the Xbox One, which will fix the issues associated with the Kinect voice command “Xbox On”.

This new preview update was announced on the official forums and will be released on May 14th at 7:00PM PDT. Keep in mind that you need to be a member of the preview program, to get this update. You will automatically update to the latest version if you put your console on standby, or you can manually update to this latest version by going into the settings menu and checking for system update.

  • Update to resolve an issue where “Xbox, On” would take several seconds to be recognized.

Known Issues

  • A small number of users may notice that party chat only comes out of their surround sound speakers instead of their headset. A fix was thought to be in place, but a few users have continued to report the issue. The team is digging into these reports and is still investigating.

Xbox One preview program allows its users to test new firmware feature and fixes in advance. These changes and feedback from users is later implemented in the final version of the firmware update, which is then rolled out to the general public.
