Sega has announced remasters for the remaining Yakzua games that are set to release on the PS4 starting later this year. These remaster will all offer improved resolution and frame rate but they are not going to be a full-on remake like it was the case with Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2, both of which were remakes for Yakuza 1 and 2 respectively.
The first remaster that is coming soon is the Yakuza 3 remaster which is set to launch on August 9th for the PS4. It will be available for 3990 yen and also comes with a Soundtrack download code. The second remaster is for Yakuza 4 and will launch in Autumn 2018. The last remaster is for Yakuza 5 and it will release in Spring 2019.
There is currently no confirmation of a Western release but considering how Sega has been focusing on making these games available in the West, there is a good chance it can happen. We just have to wait and see how long it will take for an official announcement.
Yakuza games have long offered a single main character and the story is usually connected. Yakuza 1 to 6 all featured Kiryu while Yakuza 0 added Majima as a playable character. Currently, it is only possible to play Yakuza 0, 1 and 2 on the PS4 while Yakuza 6 launched last month. The release of the remaster will make all of the games finally playable on the PS4.
