Sega has released the first trailer for the upcoming Yakuza 3 remaster that is set to launch on August 9th for the PS4. The game is currently only confirmed for Japan so far and the remaster for Yakuza 3 will offer improved visuals over the original release of the game.
Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 are all confirmed to get this remastered treatment for the PS4. The first of them is out in August and will be followed by Yakuza 4 in Fall 2018 and Yakuza 5 in Spring 2019. There is no confirmation of the possible localization but knowing Sega and Atlus, it will happen at some point after Kiwami 2 is released.
Yakuza 3 will be available for 3990 yen in Japan. It seems to be a budget priced release compared to the remake with Kiwami. This remaster is also a massive upgrade over the original game that runs at 720p resolution and targets 30 FPS. The remaster has been confirmed to render at native 1080p and should easily maintain its 60 FPS, which means the performance is much better.
Yakuza 3 Remaster will be out on August 9th. It will be published by Sega. It was originally released for the PS3. Sega has completely remade the first two Yakuza games with Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2. They were developed on a brand new engine while this one seems to still run on the old engine.
