Yakuza Dev Announces New Detective Game Judge Eyes

During Sony’s “Lineup Tour” event today, the Yakuza studio announced a brand new IP for the PlayStation 4 tentatively titled Judge Eyes. Not a whole lot is known about the game, although the developer on stage did reveal that the game focuses on solving murders and playing detective. Aesthetically, it closely resembled the Yakuza game, which isn’t surprising given that the same studio is working on it.

The announcement trailer can be seen in the video below.

Similarities to the Yakuza games don’t seem to end at the aesthetics, however, as the combat also looks to be in the same vein. The detective aspect is possibly what separates this and gives it some individuality. As a detective, you’ll be required to look for clues, which can also be accomplished by flying a drone across the city. Mini-games are also litered across the game’s world, much like in the Yakuza series.

It appears that Judge Eyes’ development is almost complete, as it is scheduled for release in Japan and other Asian markets this year on December 13. A demo has also been released for the Japanese PlayStation Store. Be sure to try it out and share your thoughts on the game in the comments below.
