Yakuza 0: A Guide To Kazuma Kiryu’s Battle Styles

One of the core features of the Yakuza franchise is it’s excellent hand-to-hand combat, and no true Yakuza game would ever be complete without it. And while combat in these games is anything but boring, it’s hard to deny that it has been getting a bit repetitive over the years.

Thankfully, Yakuza 0 switches it up a bit by providing each of the two playable characters in the game, Kiryu and Majima, with three fighting styles each. Each of these styles can be categorized into either Balance, Speed, or Power, and this guide will take a look at Kiryu’s Battle Styles.

Kazuma’s Battle Styles:

Brawler Style:

This is Kazuma’s default fighting style and places an emphasis on grabs and throws. It also allows players to utilize a counter ability that lets you immediately land a blow against enemies after taking a direct hit.

Rush Style:

This is a speed based fighting style that focuses on fast-paced attacks alongside some light footwork. Not only does it allow you to dodge more easily, but it also allows you to knock your enemies unconscious.

Beast Style:

This fighting style focuses on strong wide sweeping attacks that allow you to attack large crowds at the same time. It also lets Kazuma automatically pick up objects from the environment to use as a weapon to attack his enemies with.

These styles can also be further upgraded by using money earned in the game.
