The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is out on March 3rd and the Wii U version of the game has apparently leaked online ahead of the official launch. The leaked Wii U version has been made available online and data has been extracted from it, leading to assets dump spoiling all of the weapons and equipment for the game.
While Zelda: Breath of the Wild is also coming to the upcoming Nintendo Switch, it was originally set to release exclusively on the Nintendo Wii U. One reddit user has access to the game on the Nintendo Wii U and has shared some screenshots as well as information about the Wii U version.
First of all, it was confirmed that that Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not only support the gamepad, but it also supports the Wii U Pro controller. You can see it in action in the image below.
The user also commented on the frame rate that at times, the frame rate can drop to 20 fps on the Wii U however it mostly remains stable at 30 fps. The conditions during which the frame rate can drop also depend on the dynamic weather and particle effects. He shared more details about the Wii U version in his AMA.
The user also shared many off-screens shots from the Wii U version and while they aren’t really direct-feed, they do give an idea on what to expect from the Wii U version. The difference between Wii U and Switch is not limited to resolution, which is 720p for Wii U and 900p for Switch in Docked mode, but there are also some graphical effects that are better on the Switch.
